In 2006, Tom completed a PhD at Imperial College in London working in the research group that invented and developed the SB-QWSC. His research interest has been the design and optimisation of manufacturing processes for III-V solar cells, and during his scientific career has co-authored 12 papers in the field. Prior to that he has worked on III-V cells at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Freiburg and briefly at UK solar PV installer solarcentury.
Tom joined QuantaSol in October 2007 after managing the early stage installation programme of innovative vertical axis wind turbines for UK start-up quietrevolution ltd and has interests in renewable technologies and bringing new concepts to market.
Tom also advises the Green Party of England and Wales on energy technology and policy.
